Boonie Stomps - Fadian Cove

Feb 13       Fadian Cove       Very Medium       3 hours for 2 miles
We descend to this scenic and picturesque cove below Guam’s northeastern cliffs to swim and snorkel if the water is calm. If conditions are good we’ll also head north along the reef to the next cove.     Bring: 2 quarts water, sturdy footwear, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch, and camera.      Special conditions: A steep hill to descend and climb, overgrown trail, and hiking over rough rocks.

Boonie Stomps - Manunu Loop

We explore the unique coastal plateau area of southwestern Guam. We start with Mt. Manunu, head downhill across the grassy savannah, follow the open ridge to the cliffs above Cetti Bay and the ocean, then return by a long grassy uphill ridge with outstanding views.      Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sun screen, lunch and snacks, and camera.     Special Conditions: Steep up and down trail, sword grass, mud, limited shade, and a long hike.

Boonie Stomps - Cross Island Hike

                      Tarzan Falls Only          Medium                  3 hours for 2 miles
Two separate hikes starting at the same place. Tarzan Falls Only is a great family hike that visits three big waterfalls, including swimming and jumping. The very difficult Cross Island hike continues on to Lower Sigua Falls and is only for experienced hikers.  Bring: 2 quarts water (4 quarts), hiking shoes, gloves, swimsuit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch (and snacks), and camera.     Special conditions (Medium):  short steep slopes, mud, slippery trail.     Special Conditions (Very Difficult): Sword grass, long very steep slopes, walking in water, little shade, and a very long hike.

Boonie Stomps - Anao

We descend the northeastern cliff to the isolated, beautiful coastline of northeast Guam.  We walk along the coastal cliffs, visit the push/suck cave to swim, the wave cave, Shangri-la, the wind tunnel, and land’s end with its blowhole.   Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking boots, sun screen, sunglasses, lunch and snacks, and camera.      Special conditions: Hiking over rough sharp rocks, climbing steep slopes and boulders, little shade, and a long ascent at the end.

We explore the waterfalls, jumping spot, rock slide, cascades, swim holes, and the final eerie tunnel of a remote, deep river valley in southeastern Guam.    Bring: 2 quarts water, swim suit, get wet shoes, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch and snacks, and camera.     Special conditions: Steeps slope down, slippery rocks, extensive walking in water, short rope climbs, limited sword grass, and a fairly long hike.

Boonie Stomps - Santa Rosa Cave

We explore a long narrow cave along the limestone/volcanic junction.  We’ll visit the big room, the rabbit hole, our only underground waterfall, three different formation rooms, and the start of the asteroids.     Bring: 1 quart  water, get wet shoes, gloves, insect repellent, snacks, waterproof bag, and camera.     Special Conditions:  Climbing in very rough, sharp coral, mud, climbing in a cave, short steep climbs, crawling in water, crawling over rocky surfaces.
