Mar 17 Manunu Difficult 4 hours for 3 miles
 
We journey to a remote area in southwestern Guam and explore the ridges, plateaus, ocean vistas, and possibly some of the falls. Bring: 3 quarts water, sturdy hiking shoes, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Sword grass, steep slopes, walking in water, little shade, and a long hike.

Chongka’ Games

Join us every Sunday in March for chongka’ games in celebration of Mes CHamoru. With origins in Africa, this shell-and-board game was first recorded in Guam in 1904 by a German commander, and believed to have been introduced to Guam as far back as the early 18th Century.

Ha’ånen Familia — CHamoru Pottery

Learn about ancient CHamoru pre-latte’ and latte’ pottery shapes, purposes and designs. The Guam Museum welcomes artist, Taliea Guerrero-Stromeyer (Colour Guam) for clay shaping and an activity in replicating the ancient containers of I Manaotao Tåno’. Materials are limited. We climb straight up to the false summit of Mt. Lamlam, traverse to the true summit (the highest point on Guam), then continue on to the cave and the maze. Movies at the Museum

The Pacific Daily News, Guam Museum Foundation, and Guam Museum present “Movies at the Museum,” featuring “Megamind” on Friday, March 9th and “Trolls” on March 23rd. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and enjoy a family movie at the Guam Museum outdoor theater against the backdrop of Skinner Plaza. Concessions will be sold by the Guam Museum Foundation.

We journey to a series of three cooling waterfalls in central Guam, with jumping and swimming. The more adventurous will then hike to Lower Sigua Falls. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, swimsuit, sun screen, lunch, insect repellent, and camera. Special Conditions: very long hike, long steep hills, sword grass, river walking, little shade.
