Jul 18 Tinta, Faha, and Priest’s Pools Medium 3 hours for 1 mile
We hike to the two Memorials in Merizo where village residents were massacred just before the Liberation of Guam. We then walk along a narrow ridge with spectacular views to cool off in the freshwater pools of the Pigua River, with waterfalls, jumping, and swimming. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special condition: possible muddy trail, mosquitoes.

Jul 11 Mt. Tenjo to Maguagua Medium 3 hours for 2 miles
Mt. Tenjo to Tarzan Falls Difficult 5 hours for 4 miles
We hike to see some US foxholes from WWII, the WWI gun positions and their command post, optionally walking the knife edge trail. We exit by either the medium Maguagua Falls trail or the difficult Tarzan Falls route. Bring: 3 to 4 quarts of water, hiking shoes, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, lunch, snacks, and camera. Special conditions: sword grass, steep rocky or muddy slopes, and long distances for the Tarzan Falls option.

The perfect family hike! Celebrate Independence Day by getting the kids out of the house to enjoy an easy, fun, and educational hike. We hike to Turtle Cove where the brave can jump from the head to the pool below, then walk along the flat reef with lots of swimming, snorkeling, and exploring. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, snorkel gear, and camera. Special conditions: Some walking in water, no shade.

Jun 27 Lubugon to Fonte Swim Hole Medium 3 hours for 2 miles
We’ll visit the ruins of the historic site of the U.S. Navy radio station and “Operation Magic”, hidden in the thick jungle. Then we’ll hike to the 1910 brick dam, climb to the excellent lookout, and explore the valley downstream to cool off in the waterfalls and pools. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Sword grass, possible muddy trail, mosquitoes, and some short steep slopes.

We visit the Fafai Latte site, explore the reef top, pass below the imposing cliffs of Two Lovers Point, Walk the reef bench to a nice snorkeling place, if the waves are low, and view the shrine before ending at Tanguisson Beach. Bring; 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swimsuit, snorkeling gear, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: some walking in water and over rough rocks, little shade.

We take the usual trail to San Carlos Falls and Lonfit Swim Hole, then continue upriver to explore Vermont, the U shaped wall, and Lonfit Falls, all while enjoying the beautiful pristine Lonfit River. Bring: 3 quarts water, get wet shoes, swimsuit, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Going up and down steep slopes with rope assistance, extensive walking in water, rocky footing, slippery trail.

We hike from the black sand beach and Matala along the remote, beautiful, and rocky Asiga coastline, passing Nomna to reach Inarajan. There’ll be a few stops along the way to cool off in the water. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes that can get wet, swim suit, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Long stretches of walking in water, rough sharp rocks, no shade, and possible hazardous surf.

We traverse steep hills and follow a long ridge crest with nice views, then follow a jungle path down to the small tributary that leads to the Ghost Cave for swimming and exploring. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, insect repellant, sunscreen, lunch and snacks, and camera. Special conditions: Lots of sword grass, a lot of climbing, a long steep exit, and a very long hike.
