Boonie Stomps - Southern Mountains to Ija

We go to hell! We travel the open ridge of the Southern Mountains, with excellent views the whole way. We then traverse over to Mt. Sasalaguan with its outstanding views, before heading steeply down to the Ija road. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sunscreen, lunch and snacks, and camera. Special conditions: Lots of sword grass, little shade, a lot of climbing, and a very long hike.

Boonie Stomps - Ague Cove

We descend the long fairly steep northwest cliff line to a beautiful isolated cove ideal for jumping, swimming, snorkeling, and possible reef walking if the water is calm. We’ll also visit the petroglyph cave and try the rope swing. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: A steep slope to ascend and a few rough rocky trail areas.

We hike north along the beaches and headlands of the northwest coast to visit the mushroom rocks, the ancient village of Hila’an with its latte stones, sharks hole were the snorkeling is excellent is the water is clam, and the cool freshwater pool of Lost Pond. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, snorkel gear, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Hiking over some rough rocks and in the water.

Boonie Stomps - Pagat Cave

We explore one of the most famous hiking sights on the island, descending the limestone cliffs to visit the arch (jumping/swimming if conditions permit, an ancient Chamorro village site, and the underground swim pool. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, Flashlight, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Walking in cave water, walking over rough limestone rocks, and steep slopes.

We descend to this scenic and picturesque cove below Guam’s northeastern cliffs to swim and snorkel if the water is calm. If conditions are good we’ll also head north along the reef to the next cove. Bring: 2 quarts water, sturdy footwear, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: A steep hill to descend and climb, overgrown trail, and hiking over rough rocks.

We explore a long narrow cave along the limestone/volcanic junction. We’ll visit the big room, the rabbit hole, our only underground waterfall, three different formation rooms, and the start of the asteroids. Bring: 1 quart water, get wet shoes, gloves, insect repellent, snacks, waterproof bag, and camera. Special Conditions: Mud, climbing in a cave, short steep climbs, crawling in water, crawling over rocky surfaces.

Two separate hikes starting at the same place. Tarzan Falls only is a great family hike that visits three big waterfalls, including swimming and jumping. The very difficult continues on to Lower Sigua Falls and is only for experienced hikers. Bring: 2 quarts water (4 quarts), hiking shoes, gloves, swimsuit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch (and snacks), and camera. Special conditions (Medium): short steep slopes, mud, slippery trail. Special Conditions (Very Difficult): Sword grass, long very steep slopes, walking in water, little shade, and a very long hike.

We explore the waterfalls, jumping spot, rock slide, cascades, swim holes, and the final eerie tunnel of a remote, deep river valley in southeastern Guam. Special conditions: Steeps slope down, slippery rocks, walking in water a short rope climb, and a fairly long hike.
