Labor Day weekend in North America is the same weekend the Marshall Islands pays tribute to its working class during Rijerbal Day, held on the first Friday of September.
Colonia, Yap—Yap Visitors Bureau will hold a “A taste of Yap” event on Friday August 30, 2019, starting at noon. The event, which will be held at the Yap Living History Museum Grounds, will showcase the local foods of Yap, plus art and handicraft items for sale. The festival will also provide individuals and groups with the opportunity to sell and showcase local foods of the island, plus art and handicraft items.
Similar to the Rota Cliff Fishing Derby, the Tinian Cliff Fishing Derby features fishing along Tinian’s daunting cliff lines. Beware of crashing waves but have lots of fun at this thrilling event.
