Boonie Stomps - Fintasa and Laolao Falls

We journey to 2 cooling waterfalls in southeastern Guam. Enjoy swimming and waterfall showers at the scenic Fintasa Falls, then return to the original river crossing to head downstream to the open ledges, swim holes, and waterfalls of Laolao Falls. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swimsuit, gloves, sun screen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Some walking in water, fairly steep hills to climb and descend, sword grass.

The perfect family hike! Get the kids out of the house to enjoy an easy, fun, and educational hike. We hike to Turtle Cove where the brave can jump from the head to the pool below, then walk along the flat reef with lots of swimming, snorkeling, and exploring of the diverse marine life and geology. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, snorkel gear, and camera. Special conditions: Some walking in water, no shade.

We visit the large Upper Falls for jumping and swimming fun. We then have a choice of walking down the river and on jungle trail (hard) or returning to the cars and walking down the road to reach the large middle falls, then take the trail down to the lower falls for jumping, swimming, and exploring. Bring: 2 quarts water, wet shoes, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Walking in water, slippery rocks and mud, and mosquitoes.

We trek to a series of waterfalls and cascades in southeastern Guam. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from tiny tots playing in the cascades, to jumping, waterfall showers, and a rock slide for the more adventurous, or a hammock and swing for the more sedate. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Possible mud, short steep sections, possible mosquitoes.

We’ll visit the ruins of the historic site of the U.S. Navy radio station and “Operation Magic”, hidden in the thick jungle. Then we’ll hike to the 1910 brick dam, climb to the excellent lookout, and explore the valley downstream to cool off in the waterfalls and pools. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Sword grass, possible muddy trail, mosquitoes, and some short steep slopes.

The Invasion hike retraces the trail of the US 3rd Marines from Asan Beach up the hills and cliffs to Nimitz Hill and the Asan Bay Overlook Memorial. We then hike the open ridge down to Tony’s Falls for jumping and swimming. The Tony’s Falls Only hike takes a short trail directly to the falls and is perfect for small children and novice hikers. Bring: 3 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellant, snacks. Special conditions: Sword grass, steep hills.

We hike to one of the two Memorials in Malesso where village residents were massacred just before the Liberation of Guam. Easy hikers will return and drive to the falls while medium hikers walk along a narrow ridge with spectacular views. Everyone can enjoy the waterfalls, jumping, and swimming. Bring: 2 quarts water, get wet shoes, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special condition: possible mosquitoes, short steep slopes.

Boonie Stomps - Mt. Tenjo to Maguagua, Mt. Tenjo to Tarzan Falls

We hike to see some US foxholes from WWII, and the WWI gun positions and their command post, optionally walking the knife edge trail. We exit by either the medium Maguagua Falls trail or the difficult Tarzan Falls route. Bring: 3 to 4 quarts of water, hiking shoes, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, lunch, snacks, and camera. Special conditions: sword grass, jungle walking, and long distance with little shade and steep or muddy slopes for the Tarzan Falls option.

We visit the Southern battlefield from the Liberation of Guam in 1944 on the slopes of Mt. Alifan. We will visit foxholes, fighting trenches, gun positions, tunnels, and caves, all the while enjoying the great view. The adventurous can continue on to the mountaintop lookout, with fantastic views. Bring: 1 or 3 quarts water, flashlight, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Low sword grass, crawling in tunnels, mosquitoes, uphill climbs.

Boonie Stomps - Nimitz Caves w/ Fonte Swim Hole

We explore at two natural caves used by Japanese soldiers during the Liberation of Guam, then take a short jungle path to another deep cave that includes the lemon squeezer and the sauna room. Then we make an optional hike to Fonte Swim Hole to clean up and enjoy jumping and swimming. Bring: FLASHLIGHT, 2 quarts water, gloves, insect repellent, swimsuit, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Climbing and crawling in narrow cave passages, mosquitoes, mud.
