Boonie Stomp - Ritidian Beach

We hike the long sandy beach south Ritidian.   New hikers and families can turn around when they get tired for an easier hike and return by the cool shaded nature trails.  Bring:  2 quarts water, wet shoes, swim suit, sunglasses, sun screen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions:  NO shade, a long walk in sand, and no pets.

Boonie Stomp - Moonie Stomp-Mt. Macajna

We follow a mostly paved road along a gently rolling ridge top, visit the KAL Memorial, and end at an outstanding viewpoint overlooking the whole central and northern island. This is a perfect family hike or novice hike.   Bring: Flashlight, 1 quart water, insect repellent, snacks, and camera. Meet at 5:30pm at the Chamorro Village.

We make a nice loop trail to cool off at one of the best freshwater pools on the island. We’ll enjoy jumping from the ledges, daring the large rope swing, or just relaxing on the sunny ledges and watching the kids play.     Bring: 2 quarts water, wet shoes, swimsuit, sun screen, lunch, and camera.      Special conditions: Slippery slopes, mud, and no shade.

We descend to a beautiful isolated cove ideal for jumping, swimming, snorkeling, and possible reef walking if the water is calm.      Bring:  2 quarts water, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.      Special conditions: A steep slope to ascend and a few rough rocky trail areas.

Boonie Stomp - Attilong Acho to Sella Bay

May 25    Attilong Acho to Sella Bay        Difficult        4 hours for 3 miles

We hike down the narrow, open ridge, then over the two huge black rock hills with good views the whole way. We then head over gently rolling terrain to the coastline at the head of Cetti Bay, then north to Sella Bay for swimming and snorkeling. Bring 3 quarts water, good shoes, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, camera, swimsuit, and snorkel gear. Special conditions: Very steep slopes, sword grass, little shade

May  18    Southeast Coast    Difficult    6 hours for 7 miles

We hike from the black sand beach and Matala along the remote, beautiful, and rocky Asiga coastline, passing Nomna to reach Inarajan. There’ll be a few stops along the way to cool off in the water. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes that can get wet, swim suit, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Long stretches of walking in water, rough sharp rocks, no shade, and possible hazardous surf.

We explore the unique, extensive cave system overlooking Talofofo Bay, including the Window Rock, the Wind Tunnel, the Ridge Top, the deep main cave, the ancient Chamorro petroglyphs, and the Birth Canal. We’ll also see ancient Chamorro petroglyphs. Bring: FLASHLIGHT, 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sun screen, insect repellant, lunch, and a camera. Special condition: Crawling in caves.

We descend to this scenic cove below Guam’s northeastern cliffs to swim and snorkel if the water is calm. If conditions are good we’ll also head north along the reef to the next cove.     Bring: 2 quarts water, sturdy footwear, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: A steep hill to climb, overgrown trail, and hiking over rough rocks.

We descend into the limestone forest to an old fruit farm, then to the rugged coral coastline with outstanding views. Then we visit the canyon, the goat cave, and land's end, and then swim in the sea cave. Bring: 4 quarts water, strong hiking shoes, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch and snacks, and camera. Special conditions: Hiking over rough sharp coral rocks, thick vegetation, and a long steep uphill climb out.

We hike south along the beaches and coastal headlands from Agat to Umatac, visiting, Facpi Island, Pale Apugon, Sella Bay, Cetti Bay, and Fouha Rock. W pass several areas that are great for swimming and/or snorkeling Bring: 3 quarts water, wet shoes, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, lunch, snacks, and camera. Special conditions: A long hike in the sun over sand, rocks, mud, and partly in the water.
