TOUR EXPERIENCES:
Day 1: Around The Island Tour
1st stop: Wone Community Based Tourism Initiative
A brief stop in Wone Village offers visitors a glimpse into everyday life in a local Pohnpeian community. Guests will experience the island’s culture through traditional surroundings, friendly local interaction, and an introduction to community-based tourism initiatives that support local livelihoods and cultural preservation.
2nd Stop: Ginger’s Pepper Farm
Visit a local pepper farm in Madolenihmw where Pohnpei’s famous black pepper is grown and harvested. Guests will learn about traditional pepper cultivation and its importance to the local community while enjoying a short guided walking trail of about 10–15 minutes through the farm. Access is generally easy, though the ground may be uneven or muddy after rain. Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM upon arrival at the Ginger Pepper Farm.
3rd Stop: Kepirohi Waterfall
A scenic waterfall located along Pohnpei’s main road, cascading about 20 meters (65 ft.) over basalt rock formations into a natural pool surrounded by lush rainforest. Visitors can reach the viewing area via a short 5–10 minute easy walking trail from the parking area. The path is generally accessible but may be slightly slippery after rain.
Day 2: Nan Madol Tour 2
Visit Nan Madol, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Pacific’s most significant archaeological complexes. Guests will have time to explore the historic basalt stone structures and experience the cultural heritage of Pohnpei. Comfortable footwear and sun protection are recommended.
