Boonie Stomps - Attilong Acho to Umatac

Apr 03        Attilong Acho to Umatac        Difficult        5 hours for 4 miles
We hike down the narrow, open ridge, then over the two huge black rock hills with good views the whole way. We then head over gently rolling terrain to the coastline at the head of Cetti Bay, then south to Umatac for swimming and snorkeling. Bring 3 quarts water, good shoes, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, camera, swimsuit, and snorkel gear. Special conditions: Very steep slopes, sword grass, little shade

We, go to hell and beyond. Starting by making the long steep hike to the summit of Mt. Sasalaguan with its outstanding views, we then traverse to Atete, climb steeply down into the oven, then reach the summit of Mt. Schroeder. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sun screen, lunch and snacks, and camera. Special conditions: Sword grass, steep slopes, long uphill climbs, sword grass, little shade, a long hike.

Boonie Stomps - Mt. Jumullong-Manglo Loop

We hike up to the large crosses on top of the mountain next to Mt. Lamlam to enjoy fantastic 270-degree views. We then continue our hike down the sword grass lined southern mountain trail to the steep downhill slopes of the rain gauge trail. For an easier hike, just return by the same trail up. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sunscreen, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Sword grass, rough rocks, and steep slopes.

Boonie Stomps - Mt. Sasalaguan

We go to hell and back! We hike to the magnificent views from the top of Mt. Sasalaguan. We climb steadily up the long eastern ridge leading to the mountain, climb very steeply up the sword grass wall, then continue on an easier grade to
the summit. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, Flashlight, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Walking in cave water, walking over rough limestone rocks, and steep slopes.

Boonie Stomps - Southern Mountains to Umatac

We travel the open grassy ridges of the Southern Mountains, from Mt. J-M to Mt. Ilicho, with excellent views the whole way. We then drop steeply into the oven and traverse over to the long steep climb to Mt. Schroeder. We then descend the steep knife edge northwest ridge to Umatac. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking shoes, gloves, sunscreen, lunch and snacks, and camera. Special conditions: Lots of sword grass, little shade, a lot of steep climbing, and a very long hike.

We descend the long fairly steep northwest cliff line to a beautiful isolated cove ideal for jumping, swimming, snorkeling, and possible reef walking if the water is calm. We’ll also visit the petroglyph cave and try the rope swing.     Bring:  2 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.      Special conditions: A steep slope to ascend and a few rough rocky trail areas.

We offer two ways to get to the same place!  We descend the cliff and through the limestone forest to explore the ocean arch with possible jumping and swimming, explore the ancient Chamorro village, then swim in the underground fresh water pool.     Bring: 3 quarts water, hiking shoes, swim suit, flashlight, gloves, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.     Special conditions: Stretches of steep trail, walking in cave water and over rough limestone rocks.

Boonie Stomps - Fadian Cove

Feb 13       Fadian Cove       Very Medium       3 hours for 2 miles
We descend to this scenic and picturesque cove below Guam’s northeastern cliffs to swim and snorkel if the water is calm. If conditions are good we’ll also head north along the reef to the next cove.     Bring: 2 quarts water, sturdy footwear, swim suit, snorkel gear, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen, lunch, and camera.      Special conditions: A steep hill to descend and climb, overgrown trail, and hiking over rough rocks.
