Comments about Guam

I haven't had the chance to visit Micronesia, but I feel that I have virtually been via my best friend from Guam. I have been lusting over Guam every since she told me about the titanic barbecues and waters that are as clear as tap water. What draws me to Guam the most, although, is the breezy pace of life. Some other islands, which shall remain nameless, are esentially tourist traps. Guam is a place where you can get an untainted insight of the native life. I may have never been there, but my roommate makes me feel like I already live there!

Comments about Guam

Spent three days in Guam mostly on Tumon Beach. The calm water allowed a little bit of interesting fish, but really made a great place for kids (there were lots!). There was plenty of beach for sun-lovers or those preferring shade, though you should get down by 9am (or earlier) if you want a chair & umbrella. There are hotels lined up and down the beach, but the scenery is still pretty good. Overall feeling was not the same as, for example, any beach in Hawaii, but rather more like a lake in the states with 80 degree water. Still, it was relaxing and we enjoyed our time.

Comments about Guam

I stayed in the Hyatt right on Tumon and I'll never forget waking up the next morning and stepping out on to the balcony over looking Tumon and I was seeing a dream. Crystal clear, blue water as far as the eye can see. Coconut trees swaying on the white sand, Tumon beach is definitely the blue lagoon.

I had to get in the water after staring at it from my balcony, so I grabbed my stuff and headed down to the beach. The water was warm and just overall defines what the tropics are all about.

Whoever has the chance to visit Tumon Beach all I can say is that you're one lucky person! Visited August 2011.

John Bent, Adelaide Scuba Dive Club
Comments about Guam

John BentI have been diving in Micronesia for many years now but recently have been organising trip to Micronesia for our local dive club here in Adelaide.

One of the biggest surprises to me is the fantastic reaction I get from first timers, comments like "unbelievable" "stunning" why don't I live here?"

All this comes of course not only from the fantastic diving, but also the happy friendly service we get whilst in Micronesia.
One of the more mature lady divers who has been to many alternative diving areas said "touching two shipwrecks followed by a cocktail on the beach life is perfect". she is coming back again this year.
